Welcome to my kitchen...
In the words of Marie Antoinette... "Let them eat cake!"

Hi there, I'm Hadassah, Das to my friends, Mum to my three kids, home baker extraordinaire! I've been baking for as long as I can remember. I inherited the cooking and baking passions of my Grandma and aunties, watching them in the kitchen from a young age. When I got to university while my fellow students were burning pasta my bestie and I were trekking to Marks & Spencer so I could treat my Mum to poached salmon, potato salad and asparagus for her first visit to my dorm room. From savoury dishes to sweet, I got started on the likes of brownies, chocolate chip cookies, cheesecake and more. I've never lived anywhere with a proper kitchen (with the exception of my Mum's house though ironically or not, my baking journey evolved once I moved out of home) but that has never quelled my passion for it.
I take so much pleasure in creating things from scratch. There's something about setting yourself a challenge and seeing it all come together. I've had some wins and a few fails, or shall we call them 'learning curves' because in baking, the more you do it, the better you get.
I put so much pressure on myself baking for my eldest's 1st birthday and I ended up so disappointed with what I delivered. A victoria sponge (not my favourite cake) but I thought it would work for the idea in my head... it didn't. I covered it with smarties in the hopes of creating a 1 shape but yeh that didn't really happen. I burnt the banana bread but the chocolate fridge bars were bloody delish!
Fast forward to her 7th birthday and my years of baking, by now much improved and evolved, led me to attempt a new direction. This is the age of YouTube tutorials making every recipe imaginable accessible online creating the perfect project for yours truly with new challenges at my fingertips. So here we are, home baker at your service, turning cake into a creative explosion of confectionary goodness!
